Stop Three Waters roadshow heads to MangawhaiOn Saturday July 2 the New Zealand Taxpayers’ Union will be taking its Stop Three Waters roadshow to Mangawhai. The Union is inviting ratepayers to gather on Molesworth Drive outside The Hub shops at 11.30am. Local elected representatives have been invited to speak and highlight how the Three Waters regime will affect local democratic control of water services in Mangawhai and across the Kaipara. Forming in 2013, the NZ Taxpayers’ Union has been standing up for New Zealand taxpayers, working to expose excessive and wasteful government spending with a vision to have a country with a prosperous low tax with an efficient, transparent and accountable government. The Union has no political affiliations and is funded through private donations from supporters. Roadshow attendees can look out for the sign-written ‘Stop Three Waters’ campervan – the Union will also be distributing merchandise and encouraging local councillors to sign the Community Leaders’ Appeal calling on the Prime Minister to abandon the Three Waters reform. The Mangawhai stop is the 40th of 42 events being held across the country. Afterwards, the roadshow heads to Whangarei and finishes in Kerikeri. |
