Scottish Country Dancing, good for mind and bodyThe Kaiwaka Scottish Country Dancing Club has been going strong since it started on July 1, 2018, a friendly supportive group of people meeting regularly and dancing in each other’s gardens over the summer.
Many members of the club are positive that dancing has helped their brain health, and arthritis sufferers say they notice the difference in movement when they miss a week. The beginning of the year is the time to take up a new activity and Scottish Country Dancing is the way to go. The club is running a get to know you Family Ceilidh in Kaiwaka War Memorial Hall on Waitangi Day, February 6 from 10am-12.30pm followed by a shared lunch, $5 per head, $10 family. Enjoy some good exercise and family fun doing the easiest of dances with the children. Come and try it out. From February 13 Scottish Country Dancing beginners classes will start at 9.45am for an hour followed by a social coffee break. Dancing for the (slightly) more experienced will then continue until 12pm. All welcome. For details contact Elaine and Steve (09) 432 0532 or elainegold@xtra.co.nz. |
