Suffering anxiety? Curious for a natural approach?

Jenna Weeks-565Three of many possible causes of anxiety:

    Iron Deficiency Anemia: Ever feel like you can’t take a deep breath, your chest feels constricted, or sometimes your heart skips a beat? Did you know that Iron transports oxygen around the body? Just like when you try to hold your breath for a long time, if you don’t have enough Iron in your body, you will be starved of oxygen. This means your body will be in a constant state of 'fight or flight', which equals anxiety. Getting iron levels tested, and the right kind of supplementation may be worth investigating.

   Mercury/Heavy Metal Toxicity: Heavy metal poisoning can cause one of the worst kinds of anxiety because it imbeds itself into your nervous tissue, and into the synapses of your brain. It also simultaneously robs your body of essential calming nutrients. Removing the mercury may remove the cause of your anxiety.

   Pyroluria: Pyrol-what-ee-a? An anxiety-causing condition worth talking about. It has been estimated that 30-40 per cent of adults with mood disorders, and 25-45 per cent of children with learning/behavioral disorders and autism have pyroluria. Imagine this; Vitamin B6 is involved in the making of all of your happy-feel-good-relaxing brain chemicals. Now imagine a robber coming around every day to steal your B6. You wouldn’t have any left to make happy brain chemicals! This is pyroluria; it steals B6 and Zinc, and leaves you with unbridled anxiety. But it can be discovered and remedied.

The above conditions require proper guidance by a trained professional. I would be more than happy to assist you on your journey to feeling better.

The original article is Six Root Causes of Anxiety, but I was only able to fit three in this column. If you are curious, the other root causes are on my Facebook page @dr.jennaweeks
