Dogs to stay on leash The Kaipara District Council, in its infinite wisdom, has decided to spend some of our hard earned rate payments on revamping the regulations for dogs in the area.

One of the most frequently asked questions I get in relation to this column is ‘Where do you get your ideas?’ Over the years I have often fudged the answer, hedged my bets and beaten about the bush. It’s now time to come clean.
