MAZ project mushroomin

The MAZ ‘construction gang’ are at the next stage of the latest mushroom chairs project. They have chosen the colour palette for the mushroom panels, which will embellish the log seats currently in the Mangawhai Activity Zone.

Thanks to Resene Paints, the artists have been able to fine-tune the various hues for each of their chosen mushrooms.

“It has been great fun and a learning experience for each artist to be closely involved in the creative and scientific process of bringing their own mushroom to life,” says Mary Kelleher, local mixed-media artist and author who is the inspiration behind this project.

The mushroom chairs will be officially launched at the MAZ Active Day to be held at the Mangawhai Activity Zone park on Sunday October 22.
