Museum to host Bows and Bells Christmas fundraiser

 

Santa Bows and Bells-300Continuing on its Christmas inspiration fundraiser, the Mangawhai Museum Christmas event ‘Bows and Bells’ has a new look this year. Sponsored by Stylish Homes, and held over the weekend of December 8-9, it is based in the Museum foyer, Pioneer Village and Stylish Homes. Entry to this family event is free.

Room 8 of Mangawhai Beach School are decorating Tara Road School and the school will also feature a face painter on both days. The church will be decorated by florists from Kaiwaka and the Mangawhai Garden and Floral Club. 

Santa will be in the Museum cafe from 10am to 1pm both days for parents to take the kids and have a photo with him. Stylish Homes will be dressed for Christmas dinner with various Christmas produce goodies to purchase. Look out for the preserves and small Christmas cakes.

The ‘Handmade in Mangawhai’ Museum Christmas shop has many items handmade by volunteers and new stock will provide you with many ideas for Christmas presents. 
 
ENTERTAINMENT

Saturday Dec 8 
10am  Dance Energy (Ballet/Jazz) at the Museum
At the Pioneer Village Square:
11am  Scottish Piper Barry Wallace
12noon  The Panimals (Bream Bay College’s calypso band) 
1pm  Paparoa Line Dancers
2pm  Ukelele Band
3pm  Kaiwaka Scottish Country Dance Club
7pm  Mangawhai Singers Concert at the Museum. Tickets $20, can be purchased at the museum or online at mangawhai-museum.org.nz/whats-on. A concert not to be missed!

Sunday Dec 9
10am – 2pm  A market at the Pioneer Village Square
Entertainment in the Museum foyer:
11am  Micaela Tornquist singing
12noon  Brian Becroft on the piano
1pm  Kate Cotching singing

Kids can get their photo taken with Santa at the museum cafe over the fundraiser weekend between 10am and 1pm.
