A special evening with the Debussy Piano TrioWaipu’s Black Sheep Farm Country Homestead B&B is delighted to announce their next house concert, the Debussy Piano Trio, performing one of their Heralding Spring performances, the other being in Auckland.
The trio features Marko Pop Ristov (violin), Sarah Spence (cello), and Melanie Lina (piano). Marko Pop Ristov, from the Villani Quartet, gave a superb performance in May at the Country Homestead and has just returned from Europe where he toured a French programme of piano trio and violin repertoire. Marko who performs on his beloved 1670 violin, and Sarah Spence (also from the Villani Quartet) on her beautiful 1790 cello, are recreating the repertoire and will be accompanied by Melanie Lina on Piano. Marko and Sara have accomplished years of study and performing in Europe whilst gaining their Masters in Chamber Music. Melanie has performed across Europe, the US and Russia, moving to New Zealand to marry her Kiwi husband and is currently working in Christchurch with the CSO and the University. The programme will be centred around French composer Debussy – being 100 years since his death – an 'easy listening' hour including some delightful commentary about the pieces and performers. The performance will be followed by light refreshments and meeting the trio. Don’t miss out on a unique high calibre performance. Tickets are very limited so book early. No door sales. Country Homestead at Black Sheep Farm, 1034 Cove Rd, Waipu Cove. Sunday Sept 23, 2pm. Tickets $45 adults (10 free tickets available for music students under 16). Phone (09) 432 0435 or book online at blacksheepfarm.co.nz. |
