Full house at museum fundraiserJust shy of 100 people attended what will now become an annual fundraising event for the Mangawhai Museum.
Mangawhai Museum is a self-funding organisation and relies on the generosity and support of local businesses and people to operate. This event is one of many annual fundraising activities organised by the museum fundraising and events committee to ensure they are self-sustainable. “We didn’t have an empty seat in the house, the catering was superb and the decorations were classy,” said museum manager Emma Gray. “This was a memorable event which we look forward to doing on an annual basis.” Planning for the event began months ago, with the museum’s fundraising and events committee, headed by Gaylene Lawrence, dedicating much time and effort to making the event a night to remember. The evening raised just over $7,500 to contribute to the ongoing museum operating costs. Thanks to all of those who contributed to making the event successful and memorable: Josh Emett - Madam Woo Takapuna, 100% Electrical Maungaturoto, Morris & James, Gavan Riley, Rob Deed - Ryobi, Farm Source - Wellsford, Reg Whale, Ringawera Cafe, Mangawhai Dental, Nikki Everett, Mangawhai Golf Club, Bammas, Debbie Stone, Pipi Gallery, Caro with Love, Top Catch Mangawhai, Our Mangawhai Garden, Mangawhai Hire, GAS Mangawhai, Debbie Aislabie, A to Z Catering, Roger & Gill Hill, MC - Lesley Bell, and event sponsor and auctioneer Craig Matheson from Barfoot & Thompson Mangawhai. Thanks also goes to those who attended on the evening.
