Rodney students glam it upSenior students brought some glam and glitz and a whole lot of fun to Matakana recently as the annual Rodney College ball lit up the night on July 28.
Held at The Stables restaurant, Year 12 and 13 students formed a glamourous crowd decked out in sparkly gowns and floral patterned suits minus socks – ‘50s style – with some arriving to the venue in an assortment of equally stylish cars from a Pontiac Firebird to a limo Hummer. With the DJ playing to the young crowd, most of the night was danced away, with a bit of time spent drinking, eating and strutting a diverse range of poses to capture the fun of the night’s atmosphere. - WORDS/Julia Wade, PHOTOS/Ylia Trotter Photo & Cinema Queen and King of the Ball, Liliah Ferguson and James Logue. Best Couple, Nathan Leigh-Malofy and Loren Adams. Florals and no socks won Jack Bennett (in pink) ‘Best Dressed’ and Ethan Whyte the title of ‘Prince’. ‘Princess’ was won by Julianne Cunningham |
