Trophy haul for talented twinkle- toesRodney College dancer Olivia Platt has pirouetted her way through much of the opposition at the recent Northland Ballet & Dance 2018 Competition.
The accomplished 13-year-old Year 9 student competed in 9 sections over the competition weekend, some in her age group and some against older dancers. Olivia’s top results categories included National Character (2nd overall, 1st in her age group), Demi-character (1st), Classical Ballet (12 & under 14, 1st), Contemporary (12 & under 14, 1st), Classical Barefoot (12 & under 14, 1st). Olivia also received a number of Special Awards including the Ackers Aggregate Trophy (12 yrs & over, Highest Total Points), Mayo Cup (Most Promising Ballet Dancer 12 yrs & over), and Wilson Trophy (Ballet, Adjudicators overall choice) plus more. |
