Students scoot and skate for fundraiser

 

Mangawhai Beach School students have been working hard raising funds for the Mangawhai Activity Zone. The school’s community problem group, run by teacher Andie Gore, has spent the term doing rubbish pickups and planting in the area.

Wanting to do more, the enthusiastic group decided to hold a wheels day fundraiser. Students were able to bring scooters, roller skates, skateboards, bikes or anything with wheels and asked to bring a gold coin donation. Areas were set up around the school with obstacle courses, ramps and challenges. Students had a great day and over $260 was raised.
