ORT takes show on the roadOtamatea Repertory Theatre (ORT) is producing the hilarious comedy revue ‘I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change’ and is planning to tour the show at seven different venues around Northland. Opening night is at ORT on March 3, 7.30pm, followed by an evening at Forum North in Whangarei, then Dargaville, Mangawhai, Warkworth, Wellsford, Mangawhai again and then closing at Bream Bay on April 1. The show has a relatively small cast of 14 and minimal set, so it is easy enough to take on tour and promote the theatre. The original Broadway cast debuted in 1996 and used only four actors. ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ tackles modern love in all its forms, from the perils and pitfalls of the first date, to marriage, children, and the twilight years of life. Set in the modern world and told in a series of vignettes and songs, the show traces the overall arc of relationships throughout the course of a life. This insightful and hilarious musical will have audience members shouting “This is my life!” ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ will appeal to anyone, in any stage or age of relationship: from hooking up to marriage, having kids, or back on the dating game again. These are our lives playing out on the stage - and it’s absolutely laugh-out-loud funny! Tickets for all shows, except Whangarei, are available online at ort.org.nz and Tony’s Lotto Shop, Maungaturoto, has the ORT tickets on sale for opening night. Tickets for Forum North on March 4 are available through Ticketek. Mangawhai tickets on sale at Bammas. Tickets, adults $28, no concession for students. Parents may wish to bring their teenage children and pay the full price. |
