Golf events a boost for school

Mangwhai Golf Club hosted Mangawhai Beach School (MBS) for their annual golf day on Sunday December 6, one of the school’s biggest fundraising event.

Fifteen teams of six players competed in the ambrose event, vying for an amazing prize pool donated by some very generous sponsors.

The final amount raised wasn’t available at print time but the school was hoping to raise around $15,000 with the money going towards completion of the junior playground.

Local golf stalwart Mike Howard said the club was delighted to host the tournament again as a sign of their commitment to the community.

The MBS charity fundraiser is the longest running single-focus fundraising event at the club.
