Weekend service now for Wellsford CABThe Wellsford Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) is now open on Saturdays from 10am to 12pm. The extra hours hope to improve access for those in the community who are at work during the CAB’s existing opening hours.
Opening hours are 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday, and now 10am to 12pm on Saturdays. Citizens Advice Bureau helps to empower people to navigate the complexities of dayto-day life, providing free, confidential, and independent advice on a range of issues. The range of services includes helping people with everything and anything from employment problems through to tenancy related issues, finding a local group to join, to even filling out a form. And if the CAB cannot help with a particular issue, they will know the right organisation who can. “The CAB service has proven particularly invaluable over the past year during the Covid-19 pandemic, as they have helped people to understand the new rules and regulations,” says Wellsford CAB manager Callum Liefting. “For example, working with people to help them understand their rights and responsibilities regarding the Government wage subsidies, and force majeure clauses in employment contracts.” So if you ever have any problems, and you’re unsure how to tackle them or where to start, Liefting says just ask for help at the CAB on a Saturday. If you would like to be the one helping other people, just get in touch about volunteering. The CAB is located at the Wellsford District Community Centre at 1 Matheson Road, Wellsford.
