Top ten for Tom in Taranaki

Langs Beach teen Tom Norton carves up the top of a wave at the 2017 Surfing NZ Maori Nationals held at Waitara Beach, Taranaki, last month.

Tom, who represented Ngati Wai in the event, managed a very respectable 4th place in the U18 Boys Division and 5th equal in the U16 Boys. Tom is a Year 11 student at Bream Bay College and competes regularly on the NZ circuit. He also trained as part of the Mangawhai Surf Dojo for two years and has been in the Northland team since 2014.
