Zonta award to develop leadership potential

 

Rodney College students Anja Hamelmann (left) and Stella Waldron have both been awarded a 10-day Leadership Development Voyage on the Spirit of New Zealand by the Zonta Club of Mangawhai.

Pictured with Zonta president, Jan Fisher, the girls were presented with their awards at Zonta’s October general meeting. Anja and Stella will return to address the club about their experience after their respective voyages next year.

The girls were chosen from an impressive slate of candidates after a process of shortlisting and interviews.

Offered each year by the Zonta Club of Mangawhai to a young woman of the local area aged 15 to 19 who shows leadership potential, the award is made possible by the generosity of the community during Zonta fundraising events such as this year's Zonta Mid-Winter Dinner and Ball.
