Breast cancer appeal needs collectorsThe New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation is appealing for volunteers to assist and also take on the role of Street Appeal co-ordinator for the annual Pink Ribbon appeal Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October.
Current co-ordinator Annette van Steenwijk is a local who has also been involved as a street collector. Mangawhai has been involved with the NZBC Foundation through some very successful Pink Breakfast events. Volunteers are required for collection points at Molesworth 4 Square at The Heads, and Village 4 Square at the Village. Just two hours per volunteer means up to 40 volunteers are required but every offer of time will be much appreciated in support of this very worthy cause. The movement requires 9,000 volunteers nationwide and can't do it without you. By giving two hours to help a sister out, you can make a difference and help raise funds for lifesaving education programmes and for people with breast cancer. Appeal day is still five weeks away so plenty of time to plan your calendar. If you can afford two hours of your time on either of these two days please call Annette on 021 189 6905, (09) 431 3041 or vansteenwijk.annette@gmail.com. |
