Mangawhai Bowling Club newsHave A Go Bowls
The Club extends a welcome to all non-bowlers to Have A Go and try their hand at outdoor bowls for a couple of hours. Put the date and time in your diary. Simply turn up on Saturday October 3 at 9.30am to register. Session from 10am-12pm. Wear mufti and flat soled shoes. Bowls are provided. Coaches and regular bowlers will be there to help. Volunteer thanks There are so many volunteers just doing their thing in Mangawhai it is very hard to single out any one person. Mangawhai seems to be able to draw these people in like a magnet. I would like to thank a couple of these people. n Paul Freeman – Always coming up with another project to do – track cutting, games nights, card nights, bus trips, helping his wife with the yearly Walking Weekend and Daffodil Day. The list goes on. A lot of people benefit from his organising skills. Thank you Paul. n Neville Franks – Another person with those same skills and still putting them to great use. Neville just stepped down from the bowling club committee after a number of years in various positions from secretary to club captain. He helped to get Housie up and running and was one of the group instrumental on our AWG project, and still organising jobs to be finished like shelter seating, painting and framing. Thank you Neville. n Keith Blincow, Bruce Hathaway, Ted Tuffy, Graham Egerton, and Neville Franks are beavering away with building and painting to get the AWG project finished. Thank you guys.
