A letter of thanks I recently hiked the three day section of the Te Araroa Trail that runs from Marsden Point to Pakiri and what an absolutely stunning piece of the coast this really is. The Waipu Cove Walk and the Mangawhai Cliffs Walk were particularly impressive.

 

Out of the seven deserving Northlanders who were recognised by the Queen in her recent birthday honours list, three were locals, each one awarded for either their dedication and high achievements.
