Try a peel for healthy skinNow that the season has changed and we are moving into autumn and winter, this is a great time to address the damage that the summer month's have had on your skin. Professional peels are great to resurface and fade pigmentation. After a peel in clinic your skin will allow the benefits of your serums and moisturiser to work deeper in your skin giving you a healthier complexion. Not all peels are created equal. Sothys professional peels are formulated safely with quality glycolic acid which penetrates the skin effectively and stimulates the cellular activity. Scientific studies show that AHA’s like glycolic acid stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in your skin so if you’re concerned with, aging peels are a real benefit. The glycolic acid also moisturises your skin to alleviate dry skin and flaking, readjusts the water percentage in the upper skin layers, allowing for smoother, softer and more radiant skin. Salicylic acid is also used as it is oil soluble and is very efficient at unclogging the skin. Latic peels are also good. They are a larger molecule and therefore don't penetrate as deep, ideal if you just need a gentle exfoliation and rehydrating as the latic acid is very hydrating. If you are concerned with ageing or pigmentation and want to see results then a professional peel could be a good solution. Book in with your skin therapist to determine if a Sothys peel is suitable for your skin. We are trained to assess your skin taking into account your history and current skin concerns to determine if a peel is right for you. n Alex Donald is owner of Pure Essence Face & Body Clinic and has worked in the beauty industry for 20 years. |
