Seven directors for new expanded Northland Inc board
The Northland Regional Council has appointed six new members to the helm of an expanded, sevenstrong board for regional economic development agency Northland Inc. Council Chairman Bill Shepherd says the six will join Kaikohe-based chartered accountant Sarah Petersen (the only remaining member of the previous five-strong board) when the new seven-member body officially meets for the first time in Whangarei in July.
New road maintenance contract awarded
At their June meeting, Kaipara District Council awarded a new Road Maintenance and Renewals Contract to Broadspectrum Limited. The contract takes effect from July 1, 2018, and will run for four years, with possible roll-over periods of 2+1+1 years which would take the contract to a term of eight years.
Six-yearly review of NRC representation underway
An almost 20 percent population growth in popular coastal areas south of Whangarei over the past six years is one of several factors driving a ‘fine-tuning’ of the Northland Regional Council’s representation arrangements.
