RSA rocking the jeepers and creepers
Under a full moon, resident witches, ghosts and ghouls, along with a few other strange-looking creatures, lurked their way to their local RSA for a night of Halloween fun. Greeted by a not-so-funny looking clown and his equally undesirable cohorts, members and guests to Hakaru RSA wined, dined and danced the eve of the hallowed night away on October 30, with local band Hakaru Jam rocking the cobwebs from the rafters. Band founder and lead guitarist, Dennis Reeve, says Hakaru rocked Halloween. “We had a spooky time! Felt great to be part of the nights entertainment with Roxy and Chris doing vocals, Laurie on drums and Andy on bass. What’s better than live music surrounded by the pretending-dead!” he says. “Was an amazing collection of local ghosts, ghouls and gremlins, the odd pirate, axe headed victims and an assortment of witches large and small. Who would have thought?” Chocolate and candy were also awarded to the best dressed ghouls, the screaming Reid family taking out best group with other various witches, mummies and even Gandalf himself recognised for their efforts. RSA president Bill Warren says ‘it was a great night’. “Everyone seemed to have a good time, the band was exceptionally good, and there was a lot of dancing going on, even I chucked myself around the dance floor, was a lot of fun.” |
