Sandra made Waipu home

It is with sadness we acknowledge the passing of Bream Bay identity Sandra Bogart on October 13, aged 63, after a battle with acute myeloid leukaemia.

Californian-born Sandra lived on her acres of ‘glorious tangle’ barely a stones throw from the Waipu Estuary.

A former columnist for the Northern Advocate who had also penned a number of articles for The Focus, Sandra was an experienced writer, editor and journalist, belly dancer, great supporter of the wine industry and proud member of the Waipu Flaming Ukuleles.

Her sense of humour and energy will be sorely missed and our condolences go out to her family.
