Gone but not forgottenFollowing enquiries from the bereaved who would like a place of remembrance for their cremated loved ones, a plan has recently been put into operation to provide a suitable area at Mangawhai cemetery on Cove Rd. Spokesman for the overseeing committee, Jim Wintle, explained: “There will be some nice new macrocarpa seats built and more landscaping but the semi-circular concrete block construction will allow family members to scatter ashes among the Kauri grove if they wish, but to attach a commemorative plaque to the stone of their choice giving a place to visit which holds some significance to them. |
