New CEO for Kauri MuseumChairman of the Otamatea Kauri & Pioneer Museum Board, Peter King, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Tolich as CEO.
Lisa Tolich has worked within the museum sector for the past 13 years, relinquishing a position at Auckland War Memorial Museum where she was part of the senior leadership team. “My Board believes that Lisa has the professional attributes to take our museum into the future,” says Mr King. “She not only owns property in the district but also has ancestral ties and we are sure that she will fit in very well with our diverse community.” Lisa looks forward to joining the skilled and enthusiastic staff at the Kauri Museum. "I see our overriding challenges as reinforcing the Kauri Museum brand and ensuring access and relevance to visitors of all ages,” says Lisa. “I envisage the enriching of collection’s content through personal stories and community curation as a key strategy to engage our visitors prior to their arrival.” Says Auckland Museum director,Roy Clare: “Lisa has made outstanding contributions at the museum in a succession of demanding leadership roles. She combines a strategic brain with an impressive ability to master details. “These are capacities that she will be able to deploy to the full in Matakohe, where she will be accountable for taking forward one of the most impressive museums in Aotearoa,” Mr Clare says. “At Auckland Museum we encourage the professional development of the people who volunteer and work here, so we celebrate her success and greatly look forward to working with her in her new role. Ka pai Lisa!” After relocating from Auckland to Kaipara with fiance Jonathan, Lisa will start her new role in June, succeeding the long serving Betty Nelley who is retiring. |
