Rodney team rates highly at NSSA

Rodney College took a team of 29 students to the Northland Secondary Schools Athletics competition on Wednesday March 19 at Kensington Park in Whangarei.

The students performed very well against some of New Zealand’s top secondary school athletes, with most of the team gaining a place in their event.

Emeka Udesike placed first in both senior boys high jump and discus and was the second runner in Rodney’s senior boys relay, winning their division.

Others who placed first were Lachie Campbell (junior boys triple jump), Sapphire Norburn Cormack (junior girls javelin), Blake Steele (junior boys 80m hurdles), Shannon Coop(senior girls 400m).

Both senior and intermediate boys 4x100m relays took gold in their divisions.
