Tavern full of laughsComing up May 10, the Mangawhai Tavern will host quality acts featuring in the NZ International comedy festival in Auckland. The cast includes headliner Gordon Southern, MC Neil Elston, opener Marcel Lucont, and David Oakes.
Gordon Southern is the international word clown. His upbeat and energetic delivery combined with his fantastically funny observational comedy and quick witted improvisation has secured his place as an audience favourite. Marcel Lucont, flâneur, raconteur, bon-viveur, is easily the greatest UK-based French comedian around. Winner of the 2012 Amused Moose Award for the Best Comedy Show of Edinburgh Fringe and the 2013 FringeWorld Award for Best Comedy. Fresh, accessible and hilarious say the critics. After winning a Fat Tom Cruise lookalike competition, MC Neil Elston was exiled from his primitive hometown of Bolton (UK) and landed in the land of the long white cloud. A relative newcomer to the Auckland comedy scene he has an energetic and engaging style that will razzle and dazzle the audience. In the current global economic crisis you get a lot of bang for your buck. Originally from the North East of Scotland, David Oakes is a regular at the Classic Comedy Club in Auckland and the NZ Comedy scene. David is a clever witted story teller with a slightly warped view on life. |
