Winter protection is keeping it naturalWe're now coming into the cooler months of the year. Yes, we are still having some lovely hot days but the nights are definitely cooler and it's a time to think about getting prepared to prevent winter ills.
One way to do this is to make sure we are maintaining a healthy diet with plenty of raw foods in their natural states which retain vitamins and nutrients, many of which are lost or destroyed in processing. Juicing is a great way to get a high concentration of vitamins and minerals readily absorbed into the body. If you know of a neighbour with spray free fruits in oversupply ask if you can pick excess fruit to use in juices. There are people that have fruit falling from trees and can't keep up with the supply at this time of year. Naturally dried, unsulphured fruit and organic nuts are a great snack for between meals. Walnuts are now plentiful and there are walnut trees that may be open for you to collect nuts from the ground if owners aren't using them. It never hurts to ask and it's great to even look at a barter system between neighbours and swap-ping fruit and vegetables. At the Sunshine Organics store there is a great range of organic, natural dried fruits, nuts and healthy snacks as well as the juicing bar for a healthy kick start to the day or a pick- me-up after school or work. |
