Local session for BMX pros

 

Mangawhai’s skate park has had worldwide coverage thanks to a couple of top visiting American pro BMX riders.

In a five-part video series, 'LA to AK', the Red Bull sponsored pro duo of Mike 'Hucker' Clark and Anthony Napolitan join local BMX athletes, riding at selected venues around New Zealand.

After exploring different parks, jumps and features in Auckland the guys traveled north to ride New Zealand’s largest concrete bowl in Mangawhai for episode three of the series – joining up with New Zealand BMX pro Jaden Leeming.

The sweltering day-long session ended with fish-chasing to cool off at Goat Island.

Clark (pictured above) is a highly decorated competition rider and Southern California native partial to surfing, skating and snowboarding.
Napolitan is a tour winner and X-Games medallist, famous for the first double front flip in BMX history.
