Tribute show simply the best

 

The first lady of rock is about to reappear at the Mangawhai Tavern on Saturday May 24.

Performer Cindy Of Samoa features in an energetic and mind-blowing portrayal of Tina Turner and all her big hits like Private Dancer, What’s Love Got To Do With It, Proud Mary, and Simply The Best.

Tina Turner fans will be in heaven.

A finalist in the TVNZ show Stars In Their Eyes, Cindy is simply the best. The popular diva has toured the Pacific, New Zealand, Australia and the US, and is renowned for her impersonations of Shirley Bassey, Whitney Houston and Tina Turner.

From age 15, Cindy Of Samoa became the first female vocalist at Samoa's famous Mt. Vaea nightclub. New Zealand tours followed and she became the star attraction of many Polynesian revues, including the must-see tourist show, Cindy's Cabaret Show. 

Cindy Of Samoa has toured the US, and has won Sydney's Poly Talent Quest, the first of many talent show triumphs.

Today, Cindy Of Samoa performs regularly at SkyCity Casino and is a crowd favourite at corporate and charity events all around New Zealand. 

And there’s more – Saturday May 10 it’s laughs all the way at the dinner and show International Comedy Night featuring some of the best in the business from here and overseas.

For the locals, Saturday May 17 will be the farewell gig for The Goods as they move on to bigger and better things. It’s a free show and these local guys have a good sound that will get you up out of your seats. 

The Goods played their first gig at the Tavern winter last year. Since then they have become regular popular live entertainment, also opening for The Feelers on New Year’s Eve,  and playing support with Tempist Fujit for Tahuna Breaks on Anniversary weekend.
