Entertainment - Final cover gig at The Tavern

NEW MUSIC: Tempist Fujit is Nathan Beuker, Harlen Keepa, Lisa Walters, and Douglas Gordon.

New music signals a new direction for noted four piece, high-energy covers band Tempist Fujit.

Comprising Lisa Walters (vocals, acoustic guitar), Douglas Gordon (guitars, backing vocals), Harlen Keepa (bass, backing vocals) and Nathan Beuker (drums), the Waipu-based band have been knocking out a range of cover tunes since making their debut at the Mangawhai Tavern in 2005.

Now it’s time to change direction.

After a successful stint in the cover industry, Douglas and Lisa are aiming to focus full-time on their original career and on promoting the re-release of their debut EP now available on iTunes. 

They are currently recording their debut album due for release next summer.

“It’s bittersweet as we have loved performing all of our favourite covers and have met and jammed with some amazing people on our journey,” says Lisa “however our original project has always been our main focus. Everything is in place now so its time to get our own music out there.” 

Fans won’t be disappointed because they’re going out with a bang, performing at their usual main venues until the final cover gig on May 25 at the Mangawhai Tavern.
