Highest award for long-serving Rotarian
PRAISE: Dave Marquet, left, receives his sapphire pin from Merv Huxford. After a long involvement with the community, retiring rotarians David and Margaret Marquet were given a farewell at the Maungaturoto and Districts Rotary Club meeting last month. The occasion was attended by members of the various groups and bodies that have benefited from their input over many years: the fire brigade, rest home and retirement village, Maungaturoto Community Trust, money exchange, and of course the Maungaturoto and Districts Rotary Club, where David was treasurer for 27 years. Each group gave high praise for the dedication David and Margaret showed for all the voluntary work carried out. Already a Paul Harris Fellow, David was presented with a saphire pin for outstanding contributions to the movement of Rotary by Merv Huxford from the Rotary Foundation. |
