Exciting new direction for Northland surfingThe Northland Surfing Association (NSA) is now an incorporated society after the committee decided it was the best way to continue to develop surfing in Northland. A new 2014/15 NSA committee, made up of representatives from all key clubs around the North, was appointed at a meeting held at Sport Northland in Whangarei on December 11. Committee members pictured from left are: Jason Ruddell (president), Mark Pevats (treasurer), Billie Scott (surfers rep), Jamie Scott, Simon Egginton, Tony Baker (vice president), Steve Thompson, Mark Vercoe, Gill Vercoe (secretary), Mal Egginton. Absent, Paul Hansen. The purpose of the NSA will be focused on promoting surfing amongst schools, supporting schools teams at nationals, providing coaching and development, fundraising, and supporting relevant environmental issues. |
