Music heavyweights fill Tavern line-upThe Mangawhai Tavern has really laid down a challenge to music-lovers for summer 2015 with an unprecedented line-up of top performers over a two week extravaganza.
Local starlet Jamie McDell teams up with former Opshop frontman Jason Kerrison on December 27 followed by the Clash of the Titans: Dragon, The Feelers and The Exponents on a night of musical mayhem with all the songs you know – and others you will never forget. With a bit of time to recover, get ready to see in the New Year. Guests local bands The Damage and Hash Tag will open the night and Hello Sailor will bring in the New Year in true Mangawhai Tavern tradition. Hello Sailor originals Graham Brazier and Harry Lyon say they are really looking forward to playing Mangawhai New Year’s Eve. “We had a great night at The Tavern with Jimmy Barnes and Dragon a couple of years ago and know the Mangawhai crowd will be up to bringing in 2015 with style,” says Brazier. “We’re going to put a few fun covers in the set to really get the party going.” A change of pace on January 3 will rekindle the fire as international performers The Black Seeds hit the stage in a double billing with Katchafire. Riding high on the back of recent album releases (Katch-afire’s On The Road and The Black Seeds’ Specials), and successful touring stints across Europe and North America, these two reggae heavyweights now join forces to perform right here at the Tavern. But wait, there’s more. Sons Of Zion make up an awesome threesome putting together a fabulous night of fusion in a mix of reggae, heavy rock, dub and funk. „ Book for these and lots more family days at the Tavern – see details on the 'Whats On' page.. |
