Life membership tops off awards night

Members assembled at The Club last month for the Mangawhai Indoor Bowling Club end-of-season prize giving and dinner evening.

Before the awards were presented, club president Jerry Pilmer announced a Life Membership award to Dawn Powell (pictured) for services to indoor bowling over the years.

Dawn received a framed certificate and badge as testimonials of the honour. 

A sumptuous meal concluded the evening.

The big club awards for the year include: handicap single champion, Neville Franks; runner up, Joyce Newman. Drawn pairs, John Whelan and Ray Draycott; runners up, Colin Anderson and Ian Toddun. championship pairs, Chas Routen and Neville Franks; runners up, Jerry Pilmer and Ken Marychurch. championship singles, Colin Anderson; runner up, Neville Franks.
