From small beginnings in Auckland, and now working out of Australia, The Hipshooters have released four CDs and won two Blues Awards for Best Band and Best Song 2002. The band continue to play to fantastic responses at many of the Australian Major Music Festivals including the Byron Bay Blues Fest, Blues on Broadbeach, Woodford Music Festival, Yagubi Multicultural, Narooma Blues Festival, and the Gympie Muster. This is a tight, crisp trio with a sound at times somewhat jazzy, other times very much blues/rock, but always enjoyable. They hit the Mangawhai Tavern on Friday March 8, 9pm-1am, admission free.

Right up there with Billy T James, Gish is the Rock Star of Kiwi comedy. He brings to the stage a wicked combination of original and popular song parodies and a healthy toke of comedy for the bro's. If you haven't see him before here is your chance, - he’s known for his NZ jokes and songs, using covers from Dave Dobbyn, Eagles, Tui Teka and many more to entertain for hours. Get along to the Mangawhai Tavern on Friday March 1, 8.30pm, R18, admission $20. |
