Artist offers variety of workshopsYet another artist of international repute has found their niche in the relative seclusion of a small Northland seaside village with the arrival of Suza Lawrence at Langs Beach. Well known as an art teacher and inspirationalist, Suza is German by birth, grew up in Turkey and has lived in both Italy and Germany. She settled in New Zealand some years ago gaining an honours degree at the Elim School of Fine Arts to go with a diploma in interior design from Germany. Shortly she is having a free introductory session for those new to artistic expression or for those who just want to meet her and will be starting weekly art classes soon in Mangawhai. Suza's style of teaching is very relaxed where she encourages each participant to find their own level. She brings out the best in each and every one of her pupils. Suza is excited by the creativity which abounds in Waipu and surrounding areas with its varying sea and landscape subject matter and is keen to become part of it. Previous pupils give praise for her “professionalism, enthusiasm, creativity and boundless energy.” The free "Have a Go @ Art" session will be held on Wednesday February 12 in the same hall. Her art classes will start on Wednesday February 16 from 1-3pm in the Mangawhai Library Hall. For more information and to find out what to bring with you for these and other classes ring Suza on 432 1881 or visit her website on www.suza.co.nz.
