Longboard nationals closing inOrganisers are gearing up for the 22nd Annual Lifeguard Longboard Nationals to be held at Mangawhai Heads on February 22 and are looking to finalise entries for the event in advance.
Registrations close February 20 but limited late entries will be taken on the day.
The popular event is open to all past and present lifeguards.
Camping and accommodation is available at the Mangawhai Surf Club. Those wanting to stay should contact clubhouse director Jess Costello at jesscostello@gmail.com.
A sheep on the spit and live music will feature after the contest finishes.

Rush Coffee, Fletcher Construction, Bammas Surf Shop, Print Poppa and a bevy of other local businesses are supporting the event.
