KAIWAKA SPORTS ASSOCIATION SPORTS BRIEFS

Gymnastics
Gymnastics Otamatea restarts on February 10. Enrolments closed last week and those people with places have been notified. If you're interested in starting gymnastics or you have sent a registration form but haven't been notified, please contact Stephanie Brown on 022 362 4998 and leave a message.

Martial arts
Are you or your child keen to join our martial arts classes this year? Black belt instructor Craig Bennetts offers a variety of classes out of our gymnasium for all ages. For more information please visit our website kaiwakasports.co.nz and click on affiliated clubs or phone Craig on 021 152 4466.

Touch
The Kaiwaka Touch Module has started and eight teams are competing. Spectators are welcome, so feel free to come along to the Sports Complex on Sundays at 12.30pm. The module runs through February and March.

Boot camp
Following on from the success of the Biggest Loser Challenge last year, there is now a Fitness Boot Camp at the KSA. Sessions are held on our grounds every Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm and Saturday at 7.30am. Sessions are with trainer Siobhan Cole and are $7.

Rugby
We are starting up an Under 18's team, with Head Coach Mike Peeni. Trainings will be at our grounds on Wednesdays at 6pm, starting February 18. Contact Mike on 027 2637388.

Our senior rugby team, the Otamatea Hawks, are holding their trainings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6.30pm at our grounds – new players welcome.

The Hawks first pre-season match will be against Kerikeri on Saturday March 7, 1pm at our grounds – why not come along to see how our boys are shaping up?

Cricket
I am thinking about putting on a fun cricket match for the community, probably in March. The only problem is I know absolutely nothing about cricket! Is there someone out there who would be happy to help me organise it? Please contact me.

Yulia
Tickets for our Yulia & Friends Concert are selling well! Russian-born singing sensation Yulia is a classical crossover artist, and performs a fusion of popular contemporary music genres and classical style. The concert will also feature some of our local up-and-coming singers. Tickets only $10 per adult and children are free. Tickets on sale now at Jaques Four Square, Maungaturoto Four Square, Mangawhai Heads Four Square and Wellsford Sports & Leisure. The concert is on this Sunday February 15, 7pm at the Kaiwaka Sports Complex.
