Rodney kids learning tricks of the trade

Rodney kids have been given a head start on their DIY and gardening careers as part of Mitre 10’s Easy As For Kids workshop series.

Last week 30 children were hosted in store at Mitre 10 MEGA Warkworth and Albany where they were taught how to build planter boxes so that they can start planning and caring for gardens of their own.

The Mitre 10 MEGA Warkworth and Albany team members said it was great to see so much focus and application from the children as they put their hands to the task.

Mitre 10 general manager marketing, Dave Elliott, said the Mitre 10 Easy As For Kids workshops are a great opportunity for New Zealand’s younger generation to learn about helpful DIY skills and tool safety, while providing them with the satisfaction of completing their own projects.

“The workshops are really bringing communities together around something fun and educational,” Mr Elliott said. “The enthusiasm and turnout at the events just emphasises how DIY truly is in our DNA, no matter how young.”
