Young ladies in demandIn conjunction with the 2013 Kaipara Kai and Fun Festival, the Kauri Coast Promotions Society will be running a Miss Kaipara Kai contest for young ladies aged 15-18 years and resident within the Kaipara district. The contest is to find a suitable ambassador for the Kauri Coast Promotions Society and the Kaipara in general and will attend important functions within the area during their year-long reign. A panel of three judges will interview the contestants who will be judged on their general presentation, personality and knowledge of the Kaipara. From the total line-up the top ten will be selected and will make an appearance at the Kaipara Kai and Fun Festival on March 23. The winner will be crowned the following weekend at the glamourous Kaipara Kai Dinner where they will act as hostesses, interacting with the attendees. The winner will be named Miss Kaipara Kai and will receive a large crown made out of elegant Swarovski crystal plus a further gift package. A Miss Congeniality award will also be presented with the recipient chosen by fellow contestants. The organisers believe this contest, which replaces the former celebrity guest appearance, will encourage greater participation and community spirit. Entries are now open and all girls who fit the criteria are invited to enter as this will be a glamorous exciting event and will look great on their CV. Entries close on Wednesday January 30. Also if you would like to be a sponsor of this event please contact the organisers although places are limited. For more information pick up an entry form at Dormavilla in Victoria St, Dargaville, call (09) 439 0007, email kauricoast2001@xtra.co.nz or find them on Facebook. |
