Johnson and Fagan headline tavern Waitangi Day fest

Sounds Like Waitangi at Mangawhai Tavern is a not-to-missed Waitangi Day concert to kick off the unofficial long weekend, with Greg Johnson, Andrew Fagan & The People, and Peter Urlich all part of the fantastic line-up.

The outdoor concert, from 3pm to 9pm on Thursday February 6, also features Lisa Crawley, Delete Delete, Show Me Where It Hurts and Tempist Fujit.

Pre-sale tickets are available from Ticketmaster and the venue from now for $40 (early-bird price) and all kids under 12 are free.

Greg Johnson has sung and written a string of unforgettable songs – Isabelle, Liberty, Don’t Wait Another Day, Save Yourself, Now The Sun is Out, and so many more. For the past decade Greg has been based in California, and is relishing the chance to return to headline Sounds Like Waitangi.

Andrew Fagan is back with a dynamic band showcasing the best of his songs (Mockers, solo and more). Fagan & The People will blast through a killer set including Swear It’s True, Forever Tuesday Morning, Jerusalem, Get Light, and One Black Friday.

Peter Urlich will MC and perform DJ sets to keep the summer beachside vibe rolling. Peter shot to fame in Th’ Dudes and has been a key player in Auckland’s club scene since the early ‘80s, as well as hosting popular radio shows on George and 95bFM.

Lisa Crawley’s new album All In My Head has attracted great reviews and a legion of new fans.

Delete Delete’s appearance coincides with the release of new single Between The Lines.

Show Me Where It Hurts bring their capitivating brand of “Swingin’ sass and soul, fingerpoppin’ rock-a-rolla” to the bill.

And Northland locals Tempist Fujit will ensure rock is well represented.
