Fun, food and farmyard at Paparoa A&P Show

Fun is what it will be all about at this year’s 139th Paparoa A&P Show – for adults and kids – on Saturday February 7 at the Paparoa Showgrounds

Entertainment specialists EventFun Unlimited will be bringing seven top-class attractions including the 28m Extreme Rush Obstacle Course and 9m high Supa Slide. There will be two bouncy castles, jeep for kids of all ages, and the ever-popular Chair-O-Planes.

There’s also a rodeo challenge for the best riders of the mechanical bull, with two prizes awarded for longest and most entertaining ride.

Segway rides are a new attraction which will be located on the old bowling club lawn.

A very popular attraction will be the Mystical Haven Mobile Farm Park where children (and adults) can feed and handle cute and lovable friends and critters.

A sun-protected sawdust dig will have prizes for little visitors. Or try the computerised Catch A Fish.

Get a sugar fix with snow cones, candy floss, liquorice and sweets, ice creams and juices.

Food choice will include Hell Pizza, ethnic foods, hot dogs and chips, superb mussel fritters and regular coffee shop food.

Being an A&P Show means that there will be all of the traditional events happening: Equestrian, cattle, dairy goat, woodchopping and shearing events, team roping and bull riding, indoor section with food exhibits, produce, arts and crafts and dog agility events too.

There will be a wide variety of market stalls and trade sites with information to share and products to buy. You won’t go home empty handed.

The Red Arrows Dixie Band will have you listening, dancing and tapping in time. The Talent Quest will reward local budding stars with great prizes.

Come early – the first 600 paying visitors will have 1 chance in 3 of winning a gate prize. The most valuable prize is a household water pump donated by McQuinn Pumps from Whangarei valued at $975. n Want to know more? Go to paparoashow.org.nz for details.
