Basking in bright summer sun, record-breaking crowds were drawn to the magic of Mangawhai Domain’s Annual Summer Gala on January 2. The possibility of discovering an original treasure among the vast range of eclectic art and craft stalls, fun entertainment for all ages and the all new food area, which proved so popular many vendors sold out of product, attracted more than 8000 people to the event.
Gala Coordinator, Carol Parkes, says the Domain Committee is hoping for a profit of more than $35,000 which will be used for general maintenance and replacement of the Domain’s gazebo.
“No event like this is possible without the many volunteers from our awesome community who give up their time to support us,” she says. “It was great to have our volunteer Fire Brigade and St John Ambulance at the gala and we also had wonderful support from our local businesses, too many to name, but vital for this record profit.”
