What a great mix, and what a great holiday experience! Until Friday July 26 Bennetts of Mangawhai are running a ‘fun with chocolate’ series for children. From 1-2pm daily and for just $20, children aged 6 years and over can get up close and personal in the making of chocolate, learning it’s history, colours, flavours – the whole process – and, of course, tasting.

Grocery Grab a novel cancer fundraiser
Cancer, Daffodils and August are joined together for Daffodil Day in the last week of August for the Cancer Society major fundraising event of the year.
Morning tea and bingo will be held Wednesday August 28 at 10am and once again the Mangawhai Golf Club have generously given use of their club house.
In what will be a first for Mangawhai. a ‘grocery grab’ raffle has been organized, sponsored by Molesworth Four Square, Managawhai Heads.
First prize is a $500 grocery grab, with $100 grocery vouchers for second and third.
Tickets are limited to 400 and will be sold at the Four Square and Saturday market in early August at a cost of $5 each.
Winter seminar series at museum
The winter seminar series at Mangawhai museum begins Monday July 22 at 1.30pm. Roy Vaughan will show historical film footage shot on the Jersey Islands during the Second World War.
Then on Monday August 26 at 1.30pm, Roi McCabe will give the background to the 1825 Battle of Te Ika a Ranganui.
Seminar three on Monday September 23 (TBC), guest speaker Peter Cammell, who recently climbed Mount Everest, will have a very interesting tale to tell.
