Antiques roadshow rolls into townWe are all collectors to some degree. We all have have keepsakes, mementos, or heirlooms large and small which we hold dear and are of significant personal value. But, leaving emotion aside, what is the real value in some of these seemingly obscure items?
Well, this is your chance to find out as a local version of that much-loved British series Antiques Roadshow comes to town. A trio of professional experts led by experienced estate clearance operator Max Campbell will be in attendance at Sail Rock Café Monday July 28 from 2pm-6pm, to listen to stories about your treasures, give some insight into their history, and give an assessment of value for either insurance or sale purposes. Bring along any broken pieces of jewellery or anything you feel may be past its use-by date. You may be able to turn them into cash. For larger pieces too difficult to transport, assessors may be available on the Tuesday for in-home inspections. Whatever the situation you must register at Sail Rock to be in the line-up for assessment at the inaugural Mangawhai Heads Antiques Roadshow. If successful this could well become a regular event. Call Margaret Fish on 431 5176 for details. |
