Nominate teachers and leaders
Teachers are top-of-mind for families with the winter school term underway and nominations now open for the ASG Teaching Awards and Cognition Education Leadership Awards. Every two years parents, Boards of Trustees, parent associations, secondary student councils and community organisations can nominate the outstanding teachers and leaders in their school community who inspire learning. Nominations will reconise outstanding teachers and leaders at early childhood education centres, primary, intermediate and secondary schools nationwide who provide children with the desire, confidence and enthusiasm to learn and do well.
Nominations are open until 30 September 2013. Nominate online at www.neita.co.nz or download a nomination form. Forms are also available at schools and early childhood education centres nationwide. Surf Life Saving is an essential charity and needs the public’s support to raise money to help lifeguards save more lives on New Zealand’s beaches next summer.
Support the cause by making an online donation at www.surflifesaving.org.nz, text WINTER, DIP or SURF to 4483 to make an instant $3 donation, or contact your local surf lifesaving club to get involved. The Chip Group’s popular competition sees dozens of chip shops from across the country fighting it out to prove they serve the tastiest, lower fat chips.
All entries with less than 9% fat will be awarded a highly commended award so customers know where to buy the best chips from. Entries must be received by June 17 and winners are expected to be announced in August.
Registration for the 2013 Best Chip Shop Competition, as well as free online industry training, can be found at www.chipgroup.co.nz.
