Greenery is goodThere are a lot of benefits in cutting down meat consumption. There is also a big difference between cutting down meat consumption and cutting it out completely.
Firstly, if you were to look at the human digestive tract it is a lot more similar to a vegetarian animal di-gestive tract than that of a carnivore. On the other hand a carnivorous animal has a very short digestive tract and digesting meats pass very quickly through and then are expelled. If meat sits too long in the digestive tract of a human it starts to putrefy and can make the whole body become acidic. In an acidic state the body is more prone to sickness and disease (dis-ease). Overall, cutting down meat consumption can be beneficial for one's health, although certain blood groups (O blood group in particular) benefit from moderate meat consumption as it boosts the immune system. There is a wonderful range of vegetarian goods that can supplement nicely for meat products, giving good levels of protein to the body. Sunshine Organics have a new range of Tonza (Taste of NZ Awards) vegetarian foods promoting regional organic products which, rather than lessen, are designed to flavour and enhance our winter meals. Come in sometime and check out the range of organic wholefoods. Sunshine Organics, 141 Hurndall St, Maungaturoto. Ph 431 8987. |
