Face masks to feature in biggest Wearable Arts show yetWaipu’s new Celtic Barn will have its first capacity public event when the Waipu Art n Tartan Wearable Art festival is held on July 17 & 18.
This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever – and tickets are selling fast. Interest in the Wearable Arts competition is high with a record number of entries and the biggest prize pool yet. The mask workshops for school children (pictured) have proved very popular suggesting a large number of exciting masks woven into the show and increased interest from the younger set. Helen Frances, who will be directing her fifth show, is this year working with a huge team of performers to make the event even more colourful and musical. New this year will be a People's Choice Award and a prize for The Best Model, both male and female. Tickets may be bought from the Waipu Museum, online through EventFinder. |
