Local ladies in the pinkOver 1,800 breakfasts took place during May in support of the Pink Ribbon movement fundraising for breast cancer research, and Mangawhai was among them.
New Waipu real estate agent Lara Dalkie organised the breakfast at the Mangawhai Golf Club and was pleased with the turnout. “It was a wonderful morning and we had a great turnout of 29 woman,“ she said. “The food was great and fun was had by all who attended plus we raised $536 for a very good cause. The golf club is a lovely venue with a great outlook and we were well looked after with lovely food.” A big thanks was offered to Merijen Oliver from My Little Flower Company who donated the flowers to decorate the tables. They were later auctioned off to add to the funds. Lara is keen to organise a similar event again next year but insists it will be bigger and better.
